Had a working title of Love Actually Is All Around.

Thomas has been nominated for "Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Comedy or Musical" in the 2004 8th Annual SATELLITE Awards for his role.

Did Hugh Grant have anything to do with Thomas getting the role? Not according to a friend of Hugh's...

"Thomas has talent far in advance of his years. He has managed to land some fantastic parts on the back of the few roles he has performed to date - and those parts appear to be getting more and more substantial. "For example, Hugh's part in "Love Actually" is in fact a lot smaller than Thomas'. "The inference would be that Hugh gave Thomas some kind of help with his career - but that's far from the case. The interesting thing is that no one on the set of Love Actually even knew that they were related. "I just spoke to Duncan Kenworthy, the producer and Richard Curtis, the director, who said it's news to them."

Jessica has a funny anecdote from the movie...

"Thomas turned 12 years old while filming this movie. It was freezing cold during the shooting of the scenes with him and his stepfather on the bench, and on every take they had to give him another cold smoothie to drink while everyone else had coffee and tea." I'm sure Thomas was over the moon about that!

Liam Neeson had great things to say about Thomas...

"It was a chance to work with kids again. I love working with children and this young boy, Thomas Sangster, is quite a remarkable young actor. He raises your game, you know. He certainly raised mine."

"My eldest (son) is eight and Thomas is actually about 12, although he plays a ten-year-old in the movie. But yeah, being a dad certainly helped with some of the scenes."

Olivia Olson's father was a little uneasy about the prospect of Olivia having an on-screen kiss. It seems Olivia felt the same way...

"Olivia was also appalled by the prospect of kissing a boy. She was very nervous about meeting Thomas Sangster, the boy who plays Sam. But they got to know each other and became friends. Still they really didn't want to do that scene. Neither of them had ever kissed anyone before. They were both like: 'Do we really have to do this?' In the end, it didn't need many takes."
